CyberPower Smart App Sinewave series

CyberPower PR1500LCDN 1500VA / 1500W Pure Sine Wave UPS with Network Card

The CyberPower PR1500LCDN is a 1500VA / 1500W line-interactive mini-tower UPS with pure sine wave output and a pre-installed RMCARD205 network management card. It protects servers, NAS and storage appliances, switches, firewalls and telecom gear from outages, brownouts and surges, and lets IT teams monitor and manage it over the network from day one.

Built for servers, storage and network equipment

Most current servers, storage appliances and managed switches use Active PFC power supplies. Those power supplies can shut down or fail to switch over when a UPS delivers a simulated or stepped sine wave on battery. The PR1500LCDN outputs a pure sine wave, so connected equipment keeps running cleanly through an outage and has time for a controlled shutdown.

Line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation boosts low voltage during brownouts and trims high voltage during overvoltage events without switching to battery. That saves battery cycles and extends battery life, which matters most in buildings and regions where short voltage dips are routine.

Network management included, not an add-on

The “N” in PR1500LCDN is the RMCARD205 network management card, installed at the factory. Connect it to your LAN and you can:

✓View load, battery status and runtime from any web browser
✓Monitor the UPS from an SNMP-based network management system alongside the rest of your infrastructure
✓Receive alerts on power events, low battery and battery replacement
✓Coordinate graceful shutdown of connected servers with CyberPower PowerPanel Business software

USB and serial ports are also included for direct connection to a single host, plus an Emergency Power Off (EPO) connector for server rooms that require one. The UPS is a Cisco EnergyWise compliant end device.

Runtime at a glance

CyberPower rated runtime with new, fully charged batteries.

Half load, 750 Wabout 15.1 min

Full load, 1500 Wabout 4.7 min

Sizing rule: keep your total load at or below about 1200 W (80% of rated watts). Add up the measured or nameplate watts of every device you plan to connect. If you need more than a few minutes of runtime at your load, size up rather than running this unit near its limit.

Who the PR1500LCDN is best for

A strong fit for

Small and mid-size server closets, branch offices, retail back rooms, clinics and school network closets across Canada that need pure sine wave protection for one or two servers or a NAS plus core networking, and want remote monitoring without buying a separate card.

Look at another model if you need

To mount in a 19-inch rack (this is a mini-tower), to run from a generator or very unstable utility power (consider online double-conversion), or to protect 208/240 V equipment.

Typical deployments

Small business server closets
File server or NAS, firewall, core switch and modem on one UPS.
Branch and remote offices
Network-managed protection that head-office IT can monitor without a site visit.
Retail and hospitality
POS servers, back-office PCs and network gear in the back room.
Healthcare and education
Network closets and departmental servers where controlled shutdown protects data.
Telecom and VoIP
Phone systems and PoE switches that need to stay up through short outages.

Energy efficiency and everyday usability

CyberPower's patented GreenPower UPS bypass routes utility power around the transformer when incoming power is stable, cutting energy use, heat and noise. The unit is ENERGY STAR certified and runs at a rated 34.5 dB.

The detachable LCD control panel can be relocated on its 4.5 ft cable, so you can read status, estimated runtime and settings when the UPS sits under a desk, on the floor of a crowded closet or behind other equipment.

FAQ: CyberPower PR1500LCDN

Is the CyberPower PR1500LCDN a pure sine wave UPS?

Yes. The PR1500LCDN delivers pure sine wave output on battery power, which makes it compatible with servers, storage and network equipment that use Active PFC power supplies. UPS units with simulated or stepped sine wave output can cause Active PFC power supplies to shut down during a power failure.

How long will the PR1500LCDN run on battery?

CyberPower rates the PR1500LCDN at about 15 minutes of runtime at half load (750 W) and about 4.7 minutes at full load (1500 W). Actual runtime depends on the connected load, battery age and room temperature. The PR1500LCDN is designed to keep equipment running long enough for a controlled shutdown, not to ride through extended outages.

How much equipment can I connect to the PR1500LCDN?

The PR1500LCDN has a unity power factor, so its full 1500 W is usable. Keep the total connected load at or below about 80% of that rating, roughly 1200 W, to leave headroom and preserve runtime. That typically covers one or two small servers or a NAS plus a switch, firewall and modem. Add up the measured or nameplate wattage of each device before choosing a UPS size.

What is the difference between the CyberPower PR1500LCD and PR1500LCDN?

The PR1500LCDN ships with the CyberPower RMCARD205 network management card pre-installed. The card lets IT teams monitor and configure the UPS through a web browser or an SNMP network management system, receive alerts, and coordinate graceful shutdowns across the network. The PR1500LCD is the same UPS without the card installed.

What replacement battery does the PR1500LCDN use?

The PR1500LCDN uses the CyberPower RB12170X2A replacement battery cartridge, which contains two 12 V, 17 Ah sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. The batteries are hot-swappable, so they can be replaced without powering down connected equipment.

Can the PR1500LCDN be mounted in a server rack?

No. The PR1500LCDN is a mini-tower unit measuring 170 mm wide, 221 mm tall and 432 mm deep, suited to floor, shelf, under-desk and network closet installs. Its LCD control panel can be detached and relocated on a 4.5 ft cable for easier viewing in tight spaces. For a 19-inch rack, the CyberPower PR1500LCDRT2U is the 2U rack/tower model in the same Smart App Sinewave line.

Do I need a line-interactive or an online double-conversion UPS?

Line-interactive UPS units like the PR1500LCDN use Automatic Voltage Regulation to correct brownouts and overvoltages without draining the battery, and switch to battery in about 4 ms when power fails. That suits most offices, server closets and retail back rooms. Online double-conversion UPS units have zero transfer time and continuously regenerate power, making them the better choice for generator-backed sites, very unstable utility power, or equipment that cannot tolerate any transfer.

Is the PR1500LCDN certified for use in Canada?

Yes. The PR1500LCDN is certified to CSA C22.2 No. 107.3-05 and UL 1778, operates at 120 V, and uses a standard North American NEMA 5-15P plug with eight NEMA 5-15R outlets. It is also ENERGY STAR certified.

What warranty comes with the PR1500LCDN?

CyberPower covers the PR1500LCDN, including its batteries, with a three-year warranty from the date of purchase. It also carries CyberPower's Connected Equipment Guarantee for properly connected equipment damaged by a power surge, subject to CyberPower's terms.

Can ITGearHub quote and ship the PR1500LCDN in Canada?
