Which APC UPS models use the RBC55 battery?

The APC RBC55 fits Smart-UPS tower models including the SMT2200, SMT2200US, SMT2200C, SMT3000, SUA2200, SUA2200XL, SUA3000 and SUA3000XL, the DLA2200, the SUA5000RMT5U and the SUA48XLBP external battery pack, plus the 230 V international versions of these models. Does the RBC55 fit the rack-mount SMT2200RM2U or SMT3000RM2U?

No. The rack-mount SMT2200RM2U and SMT3000RM2U families, including the newer SMT2200RM2UC and SMT3000RM2UC, use the APC RBC43 cartridge. The RBC55 is for tower and 5U rack models.

Can I replace the RBC55 without shutting down my UPS?

Yes. The RBC55 is hot-swappable in supported Smart-UPS models, so you can replace it while the UPS keeps powering connected equipment. Note that the load has no battery backup while the cartridge is out, so avoid swapping during unstable power.
